May 30, 2010 A Day At the Lake

Got to love a day at the lake. We took the boat out for a test drive before we go somewhere big.
It was a good thing we did. We had a few bugs to work out. Steering isn't that important is it? Okay, seems it is a big thing.
We had fun none the less.
My sister and me on the boat taking it easy and enjoying the day.

This is where Jeff tried to drowned me!!! He will never live this one down.
I was the first one to go in for some odd reason. The one person who can't swim and I go in first. But it was funny after it was all said and done.

Nothing like a bunch of goof balls hanging out in the water drinking a cold one on a hot summer day. Gotta love summer!!

It was such a beautiful day. Hated to see it end. But what a pretty way to end.

The Great Sister Trail Ride

Saturday, May 22, 2010
The Great Sister Trail Ride!!!!
I have the 3 best sisters in the whole wide world. I love them all dearly.
2 of my sisters (Lisa and Ginger) and I went for what we thought was a small trail ride on Saturday. And what a beautiful day it was, couldn't have asked for a better day.
Now mind you, since I have started riding again, it is only for about an hour a day or so, nothing to major.
When we ventured out on our endeavor on this beautiful day we thought we'd be out for an hour or so........ three hours later we found our way back to the trailer. Turned out to be a seven and half mile ride through the woods and around the lake.
Funny what 3 hours on a horse will do for you. My poor horse Lucky wasn't so lucky. He was TIRED!! I believe all our horse were sooo tired. Lisa's horse Jake was so tired he tired to take a dip in a creek that we rode through. Poor guy!!
We all get so busy with our jobs, kids and life in general that we forget to slow down and just visit with each other. Thank you sisters for making me slow down for a day. I truly enjoyed spending the day with you guys. I'm so happy that we're going to be making a habit out of doing this trail ride.

My wonderful sister had the camera most of the ride and she just had to bring up the rear. So she felt the need to get pictures from this angle. Almost can't tell who's butt is bigger, mine or Lucky! ha ha ha Next time I'll carry the camera.

Ginger (on Escape), Lisa (on Jake) and me (on Lucky). A jogger was nice enough to take this picture for us. But you should have seen the horses jump out of their skin when he came jogging out of the woods.

Poor Lucky was sooo tired. He was also pack mule too! We got to carry the saddle bag. It really wasn't heavy, I think it was carry my butt around that wore him out. It'll be hard to catch him come tomorrow!!

Lisa and Jake at the resting stop! Funnest horse ever,,,, he would plow through the mud but scared to death of the water puddles.

Me and Lucky!

My knees and legs were a little sore, so Lucky was nice enough to let me stretch them out a little! Had something jumped out about this time, I believe I would have been walking back to the trailer!!

Look Ma, no hands!!
and then my mother says "look, no teeth"

Ginger and Escape taking it easy along the ride. Are those reigns not in her hands?? Our grandfather taught us never to let go of the reigns. He would wait for you to relax and let go, then he would sneak up behind you and slap your horse on the butt.
Only did that once around him!!

Ginger and Me along the trail.

A beautiful day. However, it did get a little warm along the way, so we stopped to have a beverage to cool us off and the horses got cookies.

Kolachi Parade May 1, 2010
Markie, Stormy and Madi rode in the parade for Prague Round Up Club.
Turned out to be a beautiful day. The girls had so much fun.
It seems the pony was the hit of the parade and Madi soaked it all up.
I believe Madi is starting to like riding. Now if we can just get her to go trail riding with us.

Testing out the Boat!!

After months of the husband working on
the boat getting it water ready, he finally puts the finishing touches on it. He did spend quit a bit of time on this boat. The night before we took it out I woke up around 2 am and he was not in bed..... hum..... out in the garage working on the boat. Good thing I'm an understanding wife!

The Summer sun and fun at the lake. And we're off with the boat in tow to the lake.

We're on the water!! yea!!

made a pass around the lake (it is kinda of a small lake)

We stopped and decided to take a dip in the water for a while.

Water was pretty warm! Didn't cool us off much. But the kids had a blast. Madi i think was a fish in another life. She was happy as Pooh with his honey!

Madi had her 20 questions of why she had to wear her life vest and no one else had to (except for me cause I can't swim for nothin'). But we managed to answer all her questions and she still had to wear her vest.

She loved jumping off the boat. Dad and Ray tried to teach her how to dive but this is about as good as it got

Turned out to be a pretty good day for everyone but the husband. Seems the propeller thingy didn't work quit right. He tried to fix it in the water but with the kids jumping off the boat and horsing around, just couldn't do it. But he sure tried, he gets an A for the effort. We did have to idle back to shore, once again it was a small lake (thank goodness) and we weren't to far away anyway.

P.S. Husband says to much horse power for the prop!! About 150 to much!!

Saturday, Trip home

And we are on our way home.
There is no place like home,
There is no place like home,
There is no place like home!
To bad it isn't that easy to get home.
Pretty uneventful trip home, Madi still had 100's of questions of "are we there yet".

Jeff found this place on the way home and we had to make a stop here.

but didn't have what we were looking for.
